Start in a regular Claude chat

  1. Download the Claude ZIP. Save Job-Eagle-Claude-2.2.0.zip. Keep it zipped—there is no need to choose individual files for this first attempt.
  2. Open a new chat in Claude. Sign in to your own account at claude.ai. You do not need to create a Project or install a Skill to try this route.
  3. Attach the ZIP to the message box. Click the + or attachment button beside where you type, choose the downloaded Claude ZIP, and wait for it to appear as an attachment. Attach the Claude package, not the website deployment ZIP. Do not put it in Project knowledge or Settings.
  4. Paste the starter message below and send. Claude should open the package, read the workflow, and begin with your experience. You can attach your own resume too, or start without one.
Starter message — copy and paste

Open the attached Job Eagle ZIP and read job-eagle/SKILL.md and the supporting references needed for my request. Use the included resume template when creating resume files. Follow the Job Eagle workflow in this chat, starting with my experience and helping improve my resume or build one from scratch. Ask one short, targeted question at a time. Use only my own information, confirm uncertain facts, and do not invent qualifications. If you cannot open or read the ZIP, tell me clearly. Automated email sending is in beta testing and not available yet.

Direct ZIP upload worked in an early-user Claude chat test. ZIP extraction, file creation and web research depend on your account’s available tools and organization settings. This uses Job Eagle in that conversation; it does not permanently install it or guarantee access in future chats.

If Claude cannot open the ZIP

Enable code execution and file creation if your account provides that option, then try again. If ZIP access is still unavailable, unzip the package yourself: on Windows, right-click → Extract All; on Mac, double-click it. Open job-eagle → assets and attach these two files to a new regular Claude chat:

  • job-eagle-project-instructions.txt — the combined workflow instructions.
  • resume-template.docx — the resume layout reference.

Send: “Read the attached Job Eagle instructions and use the attached resume template. Start my job search with my experience, ask one short question at a time, and confirm uncertain facts.”

Optional: keep the workflow in a Claude Project

Unzip the package and open job-eagle → assets. Create your own Job Eagle Project and upload job-eagle-project-instructions.txt and resume-template.docx to its files or knowledge area—not the ZIP or the folder.

In the Project instruction field, paste: “Use the uploaded job-eagle-project-instructions.txt as the Job Eagle workflow. Use resume-template.docx as the visual reference. Ask one short targeted question at a time and confirm uncertain facts. Read my latest progress file and tracker before continuing an existing search.”

Start a chat inside that Project. Generated files do not automatically replace Project uploads; add updated progress files yourself.

Optional: install through Claude’s separate Skills feature

This is a different setup route. Claude’s Skill installer accepts the original ZIP containing the job-eagle skill folder. Under Settings → Capabilities, enable Code execution and file creation, then open Customize → Skills → + → Create skill → Upload a skill. Upload Job-Eagle-Claude-2.2.0.zip and enable Job Eagle. Start a new chat. Do not upload the ZIP to a Project’s knowledge area.

If the Skill option is unavailable or restricted, use the regular-chat ZIP route or the extracted-file fallback above. See Claude’s official Skill guide.

Check that it is working

Ask “Which instruction file did you read from the ZIP? Quote one short sentence from it.” Check the filename and sentence against the package if you want to verify access. Claude should identify the included Job Eagle instructions and resume template, or clearly explain any file-access limitation. Then describe your background. It should ask one question at a time and wait for a factual confirmation before adding another intake question, unless you ask to move on. It should first learn about your actual experience, interests and goals through focused questions. The first two company batches should contain 2–3 explained employers each; later searches can expand once the direction is clear. It should include researched contact/application links and deliver a tracker and progress file with the first company batch. Email drafts should connect your experience to the company and remind you to attach your resume PDF. It should provide real file links when file generation succeeds. It should not claim a verified job opening without current research or count a draft as an application.

Your resume, in two useful formats

Job Eagle uses a clean, single-column format with a centered name, navy section headings and compact bullets. Sections adapt to your background and target role.

Both files contain the same reviewed content. File generation depends on your AI account capabilities. If a format or factual detail is missing, Job Eagle explains what remains.

Find suitable companies and roles

Choose internships, part-time, full-time, seasonal work, or a mix. Share locations, dates, pay, hours and commute preferences. For international searches, discuss languages, relocation and authorization or sponsorship. Smaller companies and direct inquiries can sit alongside posted jobs; an inquiry does not establish a vacancy or guarantee a reply.

Current research depends on Claude’s available tools. Without web search, supply job postings for analysis; Job Eagle should explain the limitation and never invent verified contacts or openings.

Automated email sending is in beta testing and not available yet. Review drafts, attach your resume PDF and send manually. Confirm sends and submissions to update your records.

Your progress and next step

A short recap shows confirmed emails sent, inquiries submitted, applications completed, employers with human replies, follow-ups due and the next action. Drafts and automated acknowledgments do not count as completed actions or human replies.

Download updated resume, tracker and Job-Eagle-Progress.md files after meaningful changes. For future chats, attach the Job Eagle package and your latest checkpoint and tracker again, or add the extracted instructions and latest progress files to your own Project. Generated files do not automatically replace Project uploads. If saving or file creation fails, Job Eagle explains the limitation and supplies available downloads or copyable text.

Make it personal

Relevant saved job-related context can help, when supported by your account and tools. Memory is optional; verify remembered facts or ask to start fresh. Installing or uploading Job Eagle does not automatically share your history, resume or tracker with its publisher. Provider policies, account and organization controls, and explicit sharing still apply.

A direction that adapts to you

Job Eagle recommends where to focus from your experience, goals and current opportunities. It starts by exploring suitable smaller companies while keeping strong larger-employer matches. Prefer large companies or posted jobs only? Say so. Your feedback and repeated choices help future shortlists adapt, and you choose what to pursue.

First, what you can offer

Start with your resume or a few details about your experience. Job Eagle asks short, specific follow-ups and helps turn your work, projects and responsibilities into stronger resume content. Most questions need only a few words; it asks for clarification when needed. Then it learns your job preferences and recommends where to focus.

The process adapts to you. Already have a strong resume, a specific application or an urgent deadline? Start there. Tell Job Eagle when a suggestion misses the mark or a draft feels too formal; the next step should change with your feedback.

Accurate facts and useful matches

Job Eagle should preserve your exact experience in resumes, applications and interview answers. It asks for missing start dates and flags unknown pay, hours, training or commute details. Keep your latest progress file and tracker; current dates, preferences and skill levels stay together in the checkpoint. Both file links should arrive together, and a generated download is only described as saved after a supported save is confirmed. A live listing with unknown requirements remains a conditional lead.
